Spohn Upper Strut Mounts
I need new upper strut mounts because they are creaking. I'm replacing the struts as well. To replace the upper mounts, do I just need to buy the upper strut mounts from Spohn? Do they come with everything I need for the $165???

The stock mounts do not have bearings. They have a rubber insert connecting the center metal ring to the strut mount body. This is what corrdes. The dust caps are on there to provide additional protection of the rubber bushing from water or oils getting into there and collecting on top of the rubber insert, thus speeding up there dismay.

I think you mean demise, not dismay.
Is there anything like polyurethane grease or something I can put on the bushing every so often to prolong its life?

I have been out of school too long and don't read much of anything to keep up on my vocabulary skills. Terrible of me. To think I graduated Highschool with a B+ average. Lost that years ago. We all know I can't type to save my life either.
I would probably reccommend rubbing the rubber with a fine coat of petroleum jelly.

I believe you RTFC because I have never physically disassembled a strut mount from our cars. I just assumed there was a set of ball bearings involved.
