Front Sway bar removal

How will this effect my car? The car is strickly drag running 6.90's in the 1/8th. The front sway bar looks pretty heavy, just wondering if I can remove it without any problems. The front end is tied down if that makes any difference.

Not only will it save a little weight, but it should help your weight transfer too. Go for it!

I agree with ss86, go ahead and take it off. It will drop some weight and help weight transfer. I just took mine off a few weeks ago. It won't hurt anything especially since you don't drive on the street....just makes the car handle worse on curves.

well I took it off, along with the front impact bumper and the rear impact bumper. Not sure on the total lbs. taken off, but that should help me out a little bit..

We have a winner.... So when you hit something, you motor will stop it from getting into your cabin... I cant say that is a good way of doing it.. is this car roll caged (Completely)?

yes, full cage, SFC's, it will never see the street. If I hit something head on at the track, then something is wrong.

Not sure about the weigh on Camaros, but the weighs for the impact bars on my '90 Formula were 35lbs front, 25lbs rear, and 15lbs for the 36mm front sway bar.

I'd say somewhere in the neighborhood of 75lbs give or take 5-10.

It picked me back up at the strip. Before in the heat i could only manage to run a 7.04.. Saturday night i went out to make a few time runs and the first 2 i spun out of the hole a bit and went 7.02 both runs, then lowerd the tire pressure to 10 1/2 lbs. and went to the right lane and went 6.97 @98. So i'd say it made the difference i was looking for. I just put on a set of M/T 29.5x10.5 tires from my 28.0x10.5's so im anxious to see if that helps my 60ft. as well as mph this coming weekend.
