idler arm installation question (rotate it?)

Hello,

My replacement idler arm is in a different orientation than the one I just took off my car. In other words, if both idler arms (replacement and original) were bolted to the car, the section on the replacement idler arm that connects to the center link would point in a completely different direction.

Do these idler arms need to be rotated to the correct position before being installed? It seems like a lot of force would be needed to rotate it.

I can send pictures if this description is not clear.
thanks a lot

I just put the flat end that bolts to the frame in a vice. I was able to rotate it to the correct position that way by hand. It takes a bit of force, as they should... but they will move.

[edit] You could also just bolt it to the frame and rotate it there.
