Higher front end....

....or the oppisite to the "I didn't remember ordering the Skyjacker kit"....I'm lookin for one...LOL

I just installed a set of 275/60/15 M/T drag radials on 15X8 corvette rallys on the back...look great...but, my already saggin front end looks even worse than before....back already sits high(but not obnoxious)
Plus, the tire on the passenger side rubs on my Y-pipe some times.

My question:

Would just a set of new stock springs/struts raise it a bit, or is their a heavy duty set I should look @? or big block set? I may keep the springs that are soft for weight transfer and just get struts....help?!?!?

I know this is the oppisite of what most people do to camaros(lower), but I'm kinda goin for that Drag launch/pre-load look....

Any help would be great....
May have pics soon...

struts wouldnt help raise the front end but as long as youve got the susp. apart it would hurt to throw some new 90/10s in!!! Springs would help because yours are probly saggin if they are original. how many miles? how much do you want to raise it? Some drag launch springs sold in summit or jegs would raise it a little and help the whole off the line thing your going for!!

Front springs depend on how much weight is on the front. I use V6 springs and the front end sits about normal height but then I also have a lot of weight stripped off the front which compensates for the weight of the BBC.

What size tires do you have in the front? I had the 165R15 VW tires for a few years as cheap front runner tires. This year I finally installed some taller MT front runner tires to bring the frame up higher off the ground for clearance for the headers.

Installing some IROC or WS6 front springs will help. They have a heavier spring rate so they won't compress as much. This gives a firmer ride compared to super soft, comfortable ride springs. There is no such thing as big block springs for a third gen.

Before you order any springs, you'll need to know weights. Take the car across a scale. Drive the front wheels onto the scale so that the door is just on the edge of the scale. Then drive the whole car on the scale. Finally drive off the scale so that the door is at the edge of the scale. You should get 3 readings. Front axle, total and rear axle. Front and rear axle weight should equal the total. Once you know the front and rear weight, you can figure out what spring rate you need depending on how you plan on driving the car. You don't need drag springs for street or road course racing and you don't want a stiff spring rate front spring for drag racing.

well....with the small tires(short) in the front, and the saggin susp., the car is lookin pretty ghetto.

The car has about 112,000 miles....pretty whopped front end..if not factory, second set of front end parts @ best...

So a new set of stock springs and 90/10's should do it, eh....

gonna have to start pricin...
