I'm on rails.
It's been a LONG project, but it's done. I just finishrd my suspension. SFC, wonder bar, frontend package, struts/ shocks, and springs. also put in a 2x2 floorboard patch for the drivers feet. The front springs were a royal PITA. But it's all very worth it!!! I haven't driven a car that handles like this since highschool. And that was a very long time ago.
Now about my tires. I wanted a set of goodyear eagle GTs cause that's what came with it. Goodyear stopped making them. So, what a good replacement? They MUST be 215/65-15. In Maine you can't get a car inspected with anything but the original size tires. Any suggestions? All opinions will be concidered. savoo

As for the 215/65-15 I think BF Goodrich makes them in the Comp T/A line. See what the tirerack.com lists. Great place to see what is available.

Yeah I live in Northern PA and was going to fail for tire sizes too. They have to be the same size as factory, so stupid. If GM can ship a car with different size wheels/tires why cant I have them on my car? Yeah I didnt let them finish the inspection so I didnt have to pay, i was going to fail for other visual items too. Have to see if the old man down the road still does the inspections...... he only checked for a cat and my tire tread.

Wow, American tax dollars at work...keeping track of tire size by individual car while the education system sucks the big one.
You should be able to change rims, since the only way to tell EXACTLY what rim size you had originally would be to check the RPO codes. They may have a computerized listing of availible rim sizes offered by model year. As far as tire size, how do they keep track of that?

The tire size is listed in the computer or what ever with the car. It will list the stock sizes avaiable and such. This is for everyone that goes to get tires, but really has no idea what they need, and they'll take any reccomendation given, expecially if the factory had that size.

How the hell would they know if the car came with 15 or 16 inch tires????? The 16" tire was available so it should be good. If you must have 15 then change to 16 after inspection. 15's do not corner well.
