Chickenman, where did you get this piece and is it functional.
I posted here because to me this would have an effect on handleing if functional.
I am looking for a functional rear wing or functional rear spoiler.
Will be on a road race only car.

Car: American Iron Firebird
Engine: The little 305 that could.
Transmission: Richmond T-10
Axle/Gears: Floater 9" - 3.64 gears
I can't speak for him, but I would think that a wing that big without any aero mods up front would give you a big push.
Your most cost-effective solution is to make a NASCAR style spoiler out of a sheet of lexan.

IIRC, chickenman made a front splitter to balance the car out. He had a nascar style spoiler originaly, then put the front splitter on, and then ended up going with the wing.
That is all memory though, Chickenman will probably pop in, and give us the full story.

Chickenman's car seems to be well thought out with his custom brakes with the 1.38 thick rotors and his racing accomplishments. Based on these facts I believe that he would have spent an equal amount of time on picking that wing.
If I get an aero push I feel that I could tame that, but if I got the push i would know the wing was working.
I plan on playing with the front area too. Seems it would be easier to make a splitter than a functional rear wing. I am not an aeronotical engineer, heck cant even spell it.
But I can bend sheet metal. That should be enough for a splitter.

There are some pretty neat things you can work into the aero design.
For anyone interested in learning more about workings of the aero stuff, I suggest reading

Thanks for all of the help guys.
I will add that book to my shopping list and appreciate the picture of the splitter.
If you know of any other helpful aero books please let me know.
