solid bushings on LCAs.....oops

Ok so here is the thing. I ordered some LCA's from a company on ebay. JDI preformance. They are tubular and have a nice QA1 teflon bearing on the adjustable side. Downfall that i didn't notice is that the other end uses a solid bearing. I can lube it and it is pretty much just a nice smooth metal rod for a bearing.

How deep in the ****ter am I?? This is a street car that will (big maybe) see the strip a couple times in its life. Th parts were not expensive, so I am not considering a big loss no matter what.

Will the solid bushings be intolerable on the street?

I am not very picky, and the roads that i mostly drive on are perfect. (Like all redone last week) So pot holes are just about eliminated.

Any input on the situation.....

Thanks guys.

double rod ends? Better handling (potential), more road noise/vibration. Limited lifespan compared to poly. I wouldnt sau your in the crapper though.

no, not double rod

One end is Rod and the other is a solid bushing. Just like you can get solid motor mounts or tranny mounts or even solid A'arm bushings. If they make it in rubber, someone makes it solid too. Well thats what I have on one end. A solid bushing

Try them and find out… I’ve long considered getting a set of solid aluminum bushings (circle track places have them cheap, cheaper then normal bushings) and giving them a try. The thing is that it’s really up to how the car is setup and the person driving it. Some people are bothered by the extra harshness of poly LCA bushings, some don’t notice (I believe that 90% don’t actually notice but react to what they think they should be reacting to, there really isn’t that big a difference). Really, most of the shock/bump should be absorbed by the spring/strut, so outside of some extra road noise it shouldn’t be that big a change.

THANK YOU....man that is exactly what I expected. I think all the same things you do crossfire. I guess I will just run them and see how it goes.
