Can a car in need of an alignment cause vibrations?

My steering wheel isn't straight. It's more like at the 1 o'clock position and it will turn to the right slightly, but I need my hands on the wheels or else.

Could a bad alignment cause a vibration?

Yes, vibrations, wandering, and uneven tire wear. Also, with the steeringwheel thing, tell the shop to align the car to the steering box, then once you know its straight to the box, point the wheels straight forward, use a steeringwheel puller and pull your steeringwheel off and reinstall it straight.
