i am doin a v6-v8 swap in my firebird...and i put new springs it it like im supposed 2...but i put ws6 springs in...and now my car sitts WAY 2 high...even with the engine and tranny in her...italmost all done and look like sh*t sittin up in the air...
i put a sway bar off a ws4 on the front and i have one for the back...my struts r kind of worn...but would any of that matter?...
also off topic, but did ws6 cars have bigger swap bars the ws4's...cuz my parts guy told me 34mm/1 3/8" (i think) was the biggest he could get...kinda found it hard to belive...
any ideas whats goin on would be great..thx
p.s. the springs r for my year ws6

Also, new, stock ride height springs will tend to make the car sit higher because your 18 year old springs have compressed/ sagged over the years

I can almost guarantee that the springs just aren't sitting in the pockets. i had the same problem with mine a few times.

Have you rolled the car back and forth a few feet since you put the engine and trans in, or has it not moved yet? Because of the A-arm suspension in the front, when you jack the front of these cars up and let them down, the car likes to rest on the outside shoulders of the tire, making the wheel gap look a lot higher than it should be. Fix this by rolling the car forward and back a few feet.
If this has already been done...check to make sure the springs are indexed correctly. If that all checks out, then like people have said, replacement stock springs do make these cars look really high.

As for the swaybars, the WS6 cars got 36mm bars. Only a few places make the 36mm swaybar bushings for these cars. They are the 34mm ones that a few companies bore out to 36mm. Spohn is one company and TDS is another, though TDS uses a different brand poly bushing I believe....Guldstrand?
I'm just running 34mm greasable bushings on my 36mm bar. I figure it makes it a bit stiffer.
