High Beam rod help!!
Could someone please show me a pic of how the high beam rod is rigged in the steering column?? I was changing my turn signal stalk and while removing the cover plate behind the lever a plastic piece came off with a bunch of grease on it. At the moment the end of the rod just sits in there with no attachment to the pivot or stalk and I can't figure out how in the world it goes back together. I detailed pic would help sooo much. Thank YOU!

I can't help much with an answer, but you may get more help if this was posted in either Electrical or maybe Body/Interior section
Try a search in those areas too, I'm sure someone's posted column diagrams before..

Yeh its anything but easy, but keep the grease on it, as that little sliding bit of plastic sticks to the smaller one of the two plastic column cowls.
Otherwise it wont stay in place, and theres only one real way that it fits correctly.
Once its "greased" in place to the smaller cowl [it really is just a case of it lies on there] you have to offer the smaller cowl to the column and you can see where that small piece of plastic, buts up against the metal rod, but do'nt try working it until you have offered up the large cowl, slotted the 2 cowls together, and put the 3 screws in that hold the cowl in place.
I know all this coz mine fell apart like a cheap watch while doing a new igntion barrel.
You almost need 2 people , as you must keep that bit on the left in situ, no matter what, and the Haynes manual is cr@p, it barely touches on anything to do with it.
