Depends how you look at it.
When I took off my power doors I weighed them. Cut the harness, unbolt the door and put it on a scale = 105 pounds each.
I picked up some non power doors from the junk yard. Cut out the crash bar, removed the inner panels, cut out as much inner metal as possible and recovered it with sheet aluminum. Removed the mirrors and welded a patch in the hole. Final weight = 75 pounds each. Changing both doors, I shaved 60 pounds off the car. They weigh even less now since I've removed all the window regulator stuff and replaced the glass with permanently attached Lexan.
Some day I may just replace them with fiberglass doors. Since it's race only, it's not that big of a deal. I already have no door or window seals in the car. It leaks if I get caught out in the rain while at the track.
