how come CE doesn't offer a 10 point conversion for our cars?

I just installed the Competition Engineering 8 point roll cage. I thought that if i wanted to go to a 10 point cage later down the line that i could just get the conversion kit. Well i just called Summit racing and they don't offer the 10 point conversion kit for the 82-92 f-body. The sales guy said it was because of the formation of the roof. Why does CE make a 10 point cage but not a 10 point conversion kit for our cars?

Anybody with a 10 point wanna shed some light on this ?

Maybe I'll just have to fab up my own conversion kit

When I converted from a 6 point bar to a 12 point cage, I ripped out the complete 6 point bar.

A simple roll bar needs all the tubes to be 1-3/4" diameter while a cage only has tubes as large as 1-5/8". Instead of fabricating a conversion, I opted to make the entire thing out of the smaller diameter tubing.

My 6 point bar was custom made by a local chassis shop. My full cage is a Jegs kit.

When in doubt, call CE directly and ask them.
