Help On Proper Wheel Back Spacing
I've done research on this board and others but I would still like your opinion on wheels.
Several years ago I went into this blind and was not happy with the results so this time I want to get it right.
Last time I purchase some centerlines 17x8 with 5 1/2 backspace and some BFGoodridge Scorcher 245/45-17 (see picture). Although the Scrocher where interesting and a conversational piece I've kinda out grown them and to make matters worst they were not what I expected of a 245,, they are as wide as a 225. Anyway once I mounted them I notice that I needed adapters badly because of the 5 1/2 back spacing so I got 2inch for the rear and 1 1/2 inch for the front. So two years have gone by and I want a different look for my camaro. I've ordered and just received my new Sumitomo HTR Z 245/45-17 for front and 275/40-17 for the rears. They look great ! The 245s are over and inch wider than my current 245s and the rears are about 3 inchs wider. Needless to say the rear ones are not going to be a good fit for the 8 inch rims in the rear.
I do not want to use adapters if I don't have too and know I would need at least 9 inch rims for the rear. What backspacing should I be looking for these tires?? I don't want them sticking out and still want a nice aggresive stance. I've got several rims picked out but any suggestion and Pics will be appreciated.
