SFC's and exhaust?

if i wanted to do a custom true dual exhaust, but wanted to also install some Spohn SFC's, do these cause conflict with one another as far as being able to fit or any other problems? and if they do should i go ahead and do the SFC's first b4 doing the exhaust or does it even matter? ive got some shorty headers and im not going to use cats if that makes any difference. thanks in advance for the input.

Naturally you would want to install the SFCs before you run your custom "true" dual exhaust. Even if you do the exhaust first, I doubt you'll run into any issues, especially with no cats, because all aftermarket SFC designs have the factory exhaust system in mind.

Sorry, but you a little bit off. Spohn SFCs includes cross braces the weld in from the side to the frame supports around the transmission. We had problems with the one on the passenger side because the exhust was redone before the SFC's were installed. So take a hint here and install the SFC's first.

So exactly how was I off? I said to do SFCs first because it was designed with the factory exhaust system in mind. You had problems doing the SFC on the passenger side because you redid the exhaust first, i.e. no longer factory. Anyway, we do agree in the end. Do the SFCs first.

Well I didn't do the exhust system, the ******* who was working on my car did. He refused to follow my instructions when I told him not to weld the exhust system. I was right. The SOB really screwed up bad.

Lesson learned, the next time somebody does't listen to me, they will never be paid!

why go through all the work/money to run true duals. IMO it's not worth it. A good single exhaust will make the same power. I could have never run them w/o all the work I did. Not w/o leaving them hanging low, which would have resulted in asphalt flattened tubes(car is low) - but yes, put the sfc's in first...

Yeah I brought the Mufflex 3.5 inch catback and its working great no rattle at all and fits perfectly.

The only problem is that I got the Competition Engineering SFC with Hookers 2055s with the mufflex Y-pipe and I dont really likes it cause its too low.

I live in northen Quebec and the road there arent the greatest, so once in a while my exhaust hit the ground on rough bump and I totally go insane when it happen.

So im thinking of changing my SFC to the Alston and put shorties Hedman Headers. Then I will custom made dual 2.5 inch pipes from the shorties to my 3.5 Catback, and route them the factory way just like the dual cat '91 TPI setup except no Cat converter. Dont need them in quebec for old car

Then I will be able to get my ground clearance back!

Point of the story, check your things before attemping any work
as u see I got screwed on my first setup.
