I've seen in other posts where possible problems with tracking and alignment could be due to a cracked frame. I've had my 89 fbird jacked -up under the engine crossmember and every body part seems to fit OK-no indiations that I can see anywhere that frame might be cracked. Where would I look to see if I could find a cracked frame? I can't keep the car under control if I hit any kind of slight bump (manhole, etc) at speeds over 25 mph. Have ALL NEW suspension parts, bushings, ball joints, lower conrtrol arm bushings, steering outers, steering box, rag joints, struts, strut bearings, rotors, calipers, tires. Even professional alignment just last week. I am taking it back for an alignment check as it appears that RF tire is slightly cocked outward (like its trying to turn right). Control problem was apparent before all new parts were put in, and now it seems like its worse than before. Any ideas?
Also, for the board moderators, is there any schedule to get the 'search' mode re-enabled? Thanx for any input.

Frame cracks and breaks are normally from major repair where smashed frame was cut out and replacements welded in or from serious RUST
Major repairs sometimes break at crappy welds
Ive seen these at the front 1/4 where it meets the firewall and the rockers
Major rust also contributes as a member on this board is fighting right now.. I forget his screen name thou
Could you elaborate a lil more on the

lose control as in what? Steering wheel feedback thats stronger than you are? Car changing direction without steeringwheel change? Rear trying to come around?I can't keep the car under control if I hit any kind of slight bump

if you drive the car hard you could have fatigued the frame to where it is flexing but the cracks are still to small to see yet. these cracks would be right under the steering box. if your car wants to go a different direction of what you tell it to thats what it soulds like to me. before i got mine fixed i have to drive down the truck route to get to work where every stop along there had this washboard type crap from the trucks. that was fun ya hit one and ya have to try to counteract it before the next bump came up.
they start out small and very had to see but within 1 month mine had broken to where it would take 1/2 turn of the steering wheel to turn the wheels and the steering box would move 2 to 3 inches sideways. i know mines not from a accident cause my car has never been in a major accident. do ya have a steering brace yet? if not it is a very cheep and cost effective way to make the car handle better plus it will prevent the cracks if ya dont have them and it ya have small ones it will prevent them from getting worse.

At sppeds above 30 mph you can't stop this fight-have to slow way down and then accelerate back to speed. Acceleration seems to prevent this. Its like when you see a car pulling a homemade trailer and it gets to swaying real bad side to side at speed-real scary to be next to or right behind.
