can you cut rear springs?

Hey guys,
I have just instaled new lowering springs - 1.7" all four corners - my problem is the rear of the car sits almost a full 2" higher! I have removed the factory spring isolators but this isn't enought. I have checked to make sure the rear springs are seating correctly and it seems that they are?
What options do I have - Can or should I cut 1 coil off the rear?
Any advice would be appreciated.

Cutting them will raise the spring rate and eventually make them ride rough.

By 2" higher, do you mean higher than the front or higher than before. All kits are designed for a certain stance, if they are intended to lower everything by 1.7" than the stance should be the same as before, jsut lower.

I would look into the manufacturer...

Otherwise, you might have a reason that the front end is heavier than its supposed to be ...But it would have to be a LOT heavier.(You didn't buy a kit for a v6 to use with a big block or anything like that?)

People have argued both ways for cutting springs, but if you paid for a kit DO NOT turn around and cut them...just a huge waste of $$$.

you're right - I forgot

I guess now that the car sits lower the rake is much more noticable, so I would like to level the F and R of the car....

If you haven't yet, just srive with them for a while, most springs (especially progressive rate ones-you know the ones with smaller coils on either end) settle a bit after they are "broke in".
