Best way to hook in (very) low traction conditions?
Hey guys, I hope it's not inappropriate to cross-post a bit, but I'm really trying to get an answer before tomorrow:
What kinds of chassis/suspension tricks would you all suggest as the best way to "hook" in very low traction conditions? You can get more info from the other thread that I posted...
Again, I apologize for the cross-posting, but like I said, I'm really trying to get an answer before tomorrow, & I'm just not having much luck with the other thread.
Thanks in advance!!

Tires will make the biggest difference, soft compound drag tires to be specific. I imagine all of the other tricks that apply to suspension bite/weight transfer are the same no matter the surface. We race on really bad surface up here, on hot black top I launch about 4,500rpm to keep from bogging down- on our racing surface I have to launch at 2500rpm or i'll just sit and spin. The guys doing the best had drag slicks, I can't afford to spend a ton on wrinkle wall drag specific tires so I'm going to try some nascar slicks I found on ebay for cheap. They measure 27x12x15 and are brand new, 100bux a pair shipped. Im sure they will work better than my low profile 275/40/18's just how much better I will have to wait and see. The key is in tire choice though, everyone w/ drag tires was pulling clean away from everyone on street tires. Just be warned 10bolt rearends are disposable units when you start getting good launches.
