Iroc or WS6 steering box in 82 z?
Well, I replaced my rag joint and now the steering box is leaking from the part where the rag joint spline meets the steering box. It's the original steering box, and I found an IROC box but it's a later, 87, box.
Can I put this in without any issues? Will all the fittings work in the later steering box? I have bought stock, 1982, hoses and all, any suggestions on this set up?

Not sure if the spline count is the same, but worst case you could use the whole shaft from the later box. The hoses shoukld work fine with the later box, GM changed to o-ring style hoses (from flare) around '78. The box will bolt up just the same, and the pitman arm is the same.

The Iroc box should have the same steering ratio, just thicker stops so you’ll get a wider turning radius (or your front tires will stop rubbing if they’re rubbing now), otherwise you’ll be fine
