Anyone have this problem with their steering wheel?

It's wierd because i just did an engine swap and it messed up a day after. Im able to pivot my steering wheel 360 degrees around the tilt part. Has this happened to anyone before?

Do you mean you can twist the column at the tilt? if so there are 4 torqs head bolts down at the bottom of the top part of the column that always come loose and cause "play" in the column. If you had play in the column and now it seems to be almost hanging off don't twist it anymore.. it needs to be taken apart and those 4 bolts need to be put back in with locktite on them, by the way this is not a job for the light hearted.. its a real pain in the ***.

you should remove each bolt and put locktite on them before putting them back in and tightening , only do one at a time, you will need a tool to remove the lock ring just under the plastic cover beneath the steering wheel, it's actually a big pain in the *** as you'll find out. Just take your time and be patient

Yes, a decent auto parts store should carry the tool or be able to direct you to a shop that has it but I would recommend you go to a shop like a pep boys or similar shop because some parts guys may not know what you're asking about, it is a fairly simple tool, screws onto the primary shaft, has a u shaped piece that presses down on the large plate under the plastic cover just under the steering wheel so you can remove the clip that holds the whole assembly on. If I don't make sense I can shoot photo's of tool this weekend and that may make more sense.
Good luck

My 86 IROC had "special" bolts in the column. I had to buy a set of sockets (got them at Sears). The bolt heads look like torx bits. I did mine a couple of years ago and they are still tight.
