LCA relocation bracets installed when rear is out of car??
i dropped off my rear end to get completely rebuilt yesterday. i talked to the guy about putting on my spohn relocation brackets, and he was hesitant because he said everything had to be installed on the car to get them lined up right. this goes against what i thought, and i called spohn and they said they can be installed with the rear off the car.
any thoughts? i want to get them done while everything else is getting done, but not if they could be installed "better" at a later time. i always thought they just got lined up to the existing brackets, bolted in place, and welded.
any help woudl be appreciated, since the work is beginning as i write this. thanks a lot...

Car: Yes
Engine: Usually
Transmission: Sometimes
Axle/Gears: Behind me somewhere
They have some uncertainty in how they attach to the existing bracket, such that if installed improperly, they can make the rear not perpendicular to the center line of the car.
However, they CAN be installed off the car, if you just stick a ½" (I think it was.... whatever size fits the bolt holes tightly) rod through the bottom bolt holes, and set the rod EXACTLY PARALLEL to the axle tubes.
That's how I had mine done. Works fine.
