grrrr
Well ever sense i've owned this car its always had this rattle when I go over bumps, so today i went and bought 4 caliper hardware kits that came with o-rings for the caliper bolts new sleeves and 2 bigger o-rings im guessing went over the sleeve on the inside of the caliper. On the front's I attached the anti-rattle clip to the inside pad. Obviously the anti-rattle clip wont fit on the rear calipers because the piston is different. Anywho its still rattle'ing as I go over bumps. I grabed a hold of the sway bar and shook it trying to see if there was any play in it, but nothing. The only thing that I happened to see was that there were a couple very small cracks in the pads but they still have plenty of meat on them. Im not real sure as to what to go about next, except replace the one lug nut stud i managed to break.

today I bent the ears on the outside pads so they are nice and tight. However I think the rattle might be coming from the inboard pad. It will move up and down about a 1/4 of an inch inside the caliper when everythings together. Its got the anti-rattle clip on the back of it. Not real sure what more I can do except try some new pads, as the inside ones dont have the ear to bend.

It is an inherent defect in the Delco-Moraine iron caliper design. The pads will always rattle. Bending the tabs will help reduce the rattle noise for a little time but it will eventually coime right back especially if you get on them hard and heat them up.
I ended up building my own brake setup ONLY because I counld not stand hearing the rattling anymore. The stock brakes with aftermarket componants stopped fine- but were annoying as all heck and embarassing when rolling slowly through a parkinglot or stop and go traffic.
