shock/strut price to value comparison

Well i'd like to replace my original shocks and struts on my 1992 camaro rs (well i think they are anyways). I have the softer rs springs but, i don't plan to swap them for drivability and ride quality reasons.

I know the best out their are pretty much koni yellows or billsteins, frankly i don't want to spend that much money on shocks and struts though.....

So my question is out of these 4 different shocks and struts what are your opinions on the best price to value. so here they are:

kyb gr2s (could have 4 for 150 or a little less) but, these are non adjustable and probably the worst quality out of these 4.

kyb agx, should be Better than gr2s and they are adjustable which is a big + for me. (could have these for about 350 for all 4)

tokico hps, well i would suspect they are better than the gr2s but, they are non adjustable (about 250 for all 4)

tokico illuminas which are probably the best out of the 4 being adjustable and best overall design just 1 step underneath the bilstein and koni's but, they cost it too at a price of (450-500 for a set of 4)

I'm leaning towards the tokico illuminas or kyb agx but, i could use first hand experience and input from those who have ran lower end and upper end parts for a true price to value comparison.

Either way i'll be keeping this car for a very very long time because, i've dumped way to much money in it as it is, and i just plain love the car.... Though i've got to learn to skimp on somethings considering i want to pretty much rebuild it in the long haul and i'm working on a 17 y/o budget.

should have probably mentioned that, its a highly spirited street application, the suspension will be completely done up to match it, it already has sfc's and a wonderbar, still need to get poly bushings, bigger swaybars and a stb.

The idea though is to not sacrifice to much of it's ride quality for handleing, as it is i don't mind it and the sfc's aren't even welded up yet, my only complaint would be the lose feeling of the back end which i'm pretty sure any new shock or strut should cure (mine are 14 years old.....)

The bilsteins could be more in reach than you think. All of the online prices seem to be way too high as I was just shopping for them for a friend, just go to your local autozone, $540 + tax for all 4.

You'll only have to buy them once.
