ok guys i got an easy question

on the 3rd gen cars do only the irocs come with the quick ratio steering gear box or is it all 3rd gen cars?

 

wonder if this will work...well it worked so i'll explain what i have determined it means....

the "WS" (z28) box and the "XH" (iroc) box have the same ratio...but the "XH" box was equipped on the cars with 16" wheels and it had slightly different internal stops to keep the tires from rubbing on the front subframe. It also is supposed to have more roadfeel/steering effort (feedback).

...at least thats what ive interpretted from it.

and dont forget other models of cars such as some montes and so on and so forth

all depends on packages ordered

 

OK OK 3rd gen firebirds too...If you go outside of third gen cars, such as monte carlos, you could possibly run into problems with your turning radius, with the other cars steering geometry the swap may work one way but not the other.

 

i was asking because ive heard rumors that the iroc sterring box is the same one that is used in the zq8 s10's

the zq8 stads for the sport suspension package adn it lowers the truck 1.5", has larger sway abrs, frame brace better shocks in some cases a 3rd rear shock and has a quick ratio steering box

people who have zq8 boxes are very proud of them and used ones go for 120-180 so if i could pick up a decnet milage f body one adn ahve it be the same then i would be saving some decent coinage
