bbc swap springs?
hey i havent bought the car yet, but if i get one with a 6cyl i need a recommendation on good springs to handle the added weight with my 454, i've heard small block springs will handle it, but just in case i buy one that had a 6 banger in it, id rather buy some new performance springs than rip some out of a small block car in the junkyard since they arent that high, thanks!

don't buy used springs, they're worn out anyway.
I'd recommend moog 5664's, they're stock replacements for like a '93 S10, or the heavy duty suspension on the convertible 3rd gens. They're the stiffest stock ones you can put in these spring pockets (that I know of). They are also stiffer than many aftermarket lowering springs, plus, the true beauty, they're CHEAP like stock parts, not like "high perf" stuff, plus you can get them at any parts store.

Your best bet is put the new motor in and then weigh the front half of the car and get the correct spring rate for whatever it weighs.
