Hey guys...new guy here with questions for guys with high horsepower cars
Hello, I just joined up and am new to the high horsepower hot rod scene. This is the first big HP car I have ever owned. I just bought a Camaro http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y21...ian27/Evil.jpg with a 600 hp engine for a great price. I couldn't say no! Anyway, the car was built more for show than to be able to use all the horses. It doesn't have anything structural done to take the power. To make it worse...it is a T-top car! The body is perfect and the car looks great, but I want to be able to punch it and not worry about twisting the thing into a pretzel! What I would like to know from guys that have built these things...do you think it's worth putting a back half and all the work into a T-top car? Or can I get enough structural integrity with good sub-frame connectors and an 8 point roll bar?
Thanks for all your help...and I apologize in advance for the newbie questions, but that is what I am!

I've had SFC since day one. At the start of my third racing season, I hit 12.0 and needed to put a 6 point roll bar in the car to finish the rest of the season. The rule back then was 11.99 and quicker needed a roll bar. I now have a full cage. I've never had a problem with my T-tops and my doors still open and close with no problems. I can still take my T-tops out when I'm working in the car. I makes getting past the roll cage easier.
