Spohn Ad. torque arm questions
Im going to be purchasing a spohn adjustable torque arm with the th350 crossmember. My question is, how does everyone like it who has it? Should I get the poly mount or the spherical mount? Most important, whats up with the pinain angle? Is it easy to adjust? What should it be set at?
Thanks!

I think its a nice piece of hardware. My rear suspension is fitted with all of his stuff and while I don't have a lot of HP yet, I think it hooks and handles great. I went with the poly mount because I'm building a street car, so I wanted durability and "fairly" quiet ride. If you're building a strip car go with the spherical mount. These tend to wear and transfer a bit of road noise from what I understand. The only problem with the Spohn TQ arm is that the Xmember spaces the TQ mount rearward and so it twists the Xmember a bit.
The pinion angle is pretty easy to set. With the car level up in the air, loosen the heim joint bolts and adjust lock nuts. Using the supplied angle finder find the angle of the driveshaft and the rear subtract one from the other and turn the adjuster until you get -1deg. Tighten bolts and lock nuts and enjoy. You just need some pretty big adjustables for some of the bolts.

i have the torque arm on my iroc and love it. i have the spherical end. it depends on what you plan to do with the car. if you want to carve corners with it or run hard at the track id go with the spherical end. if its just going to be driven normally most of the time go with the polly bushing. my opinion on the noise from spherical ends and stuff, people who complain about the noise shouldnt mod there car then, buy a caddy!

I also run a Spohn T56 stlye torque arm/crossmember and I love it. I havent pout many miles on it in the year that I have had it but s far so good. I got the sperical rod stlye and I drivemy car on the street. sometimes I wish I went with the poly one but I cant even hear the rod banging around when I drive. Granted, I have completed dynomattedmy entire interior and now it is MUCH more quietier in the car. To sum it up, I give it a thumbs up

the crossmember is so heavy youll lose gas milage.
its a great part, but if i had to do it again, id go with the BMR.
its shorter, and would give more clearance for duals, if thats a route youd ever take. any exhaust in general.
good luck.
