thunk/knock from rear driver side
Whenever i hit a small bump say, leaving my driveway to enter the road, I can hear an audible thunk from what sounds like just below the compartment in the hatch on the drivers side rear. As far as i know nothing is loose as i have been under the car about 4 times this summer. Is this the sign of a failing shock or something?

ya perhaps the bushing on the top or bottom of shock has deteriated. Pull the carpet some just to make sure it didnt actually crack or damage the floorboard. But you are sure all of your bushings are in your sway bars, lower control arms, panhard all that stuff right?

i've been trying to figure this noise out forever, I put new shocks and struts on and sounds like a knock, whenever going up or down a driveway from the rear somewhere

If all your bushings check out...
My 3" exhaust will occasionaly thunk the body on harder bumps. There is a spot where the coating has rubbed off and started some rust.
