Just curious on what type of rack sub frame connectors should be installed/welded on. A rack where you drive the car up on so the suspension is loaded or will a rack that lifts on the frame to allow the suspension to sag. About to install mine and wondered if it mattered??

SFC need to be installed with the suspension loaded. A drive on rack is good. One that lifts on the frame is not keeping the suspension loaded plus it may get in the way of installing the SFC.

 

Doesn't matter if the suspension is "loaded" or not.

The important thing is that the chassis is STRAIGHT.

I had mine done on a race car jig. Bolted it down to a metal plate about ¾" thick. No suspension was even installed on it at the time.

Another good way is to do it at a frame shop, after having the frame pulled to its exact specs, and held firmly in place there.

 

About how much did that cost? Having the frame aligned and sfc installed?

 

It was free. Good friend from high school days. Got it done while doing paint & body work, so the whole car was in little pieces already.

Probably would have been $200-300 if I had just hauled the stripped chassis to a race car shop and paid like normal people do.

I am planning on getting a set of SFC's but I have an issue. I know for a fact that my car is sagging abit. What can I do, WITHOUT taking it to a shop to tell how bad it is and get it back into shape to put the connectors in?

 

doors sagging has nothing to do with the chassis really, it's more the hinges being worn out and needing replacement.
