O'Reillys Steering Box question
At O'Reillys they show 2 steering boxes for our cars..They have one for the soft ride suspntion, and one for the non soft ride suspension....My question is, if you buy the non soft ride box, will it be a WS6, or IROC, or Z-28 Box...In other words will it be the fast ratio box??? They are 128 dollars...Has anyone had any experiance with these replacement boxes???? If not do any of the other parts houses have the fast ratio box...I talked to the manager at the store, and he was not really sure...I want to make sure if I upgrade my box, I get the good one...Ideas anyone?????? Thanks alot, Tom

i bought one from advance autoparts one time..
i just made sure it was for a car that was supposed to have that option... and the box i got was a quick ratio 12:1 box.

They are most likely using Cardone as their supplier. Cardone only lists 2 boxes for our cars. They should list three. The fast ratio box comes in two flavors. One has larger internal stops designed for use with cars that came with 16" wheels from the factory. It has 2.25 turns lock to the lock. The other fast ratio box has 2.5 turns lock to lock. 16" factory wheels / tires will likely rub with the wrong box.
