I have them and think they were worth the money. There are benifits to the Delrin over polyurethane or buna, (less stiction) but ultimately it is up to you and your budget if that is worth the added cost.

I have no experience with Del-a-dum bushings, but to provide another viewpoint, I've been running Prothane a-arm bushings for three years or so. Thus far, no problems, no squeaks. Would I use them again? Yes.

LOL
Was looking through an old 1989 Hi-Performance Pontiac magazine I have and they highly recommended the Del-A-lum. Is there any welding required for their installation?

Welding to install them? Not at all. One method of removing the old bushings does make use of an oxy-acetaline torch though.

Stiction is a contraction for Static Friction. In this case it is the amount of force required to cause the a-arm to rotate. The stock rubber and poly bushings will bind a bit before transferring the load from the a-arm to the suspension due to this static friction. The Del-a-Lum will more easily transfer the load due to its superior lubricity.

IM worried about them making the ride to harsh. I cant make up my mind if i want to install them or not.
Sounds like you made the right choice installing them.

I've replaced every piece of rubber with poly on my 85. I used to tell people that the car rode firmly, but not harshly--but I was comparing the ride to my Jeep. Recently, my wife inherited a Chrysler luxo-barge. Riding in that car made me realize that my Camaro rode like a freakin lumber wagon. Would I make the same suspension decisions on my Camaro? Yes. If I were building another? No. Bet that was helpful, huh?

I read somewhere that the fronts would be a different story and have a harsher ride.
I guess im just gonna have to do it and see for myself! Thread
