compressing and banding front springs?

Does anyone know of a place in the Charlotte, NC or Traid area of NC that would compress my front springs for me and them band them? I need to have them compressed so I can get them back in the car? THe motor is out so there is no wieght to help .....I tried one of those you rent and they are POS...

SO I heard about having them compressed and banded. That would work out perfect for me

I did it - worked great for me - I should have done it sooner instead of destroying one of spring compressors

Any spring shop should be able to do it. By "spring shop" I mean a manufacturer of springs, not an installer.

I used the old 4 hook style spring compressor most auto parts stores have. The only thing you have to modify is I stacked about 3" worth of spacers (lots of really big washers) to effectively shorten how much the lead screw sticks up through the spring, so it doesn't interfere with the upper spring pocket. Piece of cake, cost about $40
