ok i cant get my k-member on...
i got the bolts in the front mounted and everything is aligned but it seems like the 2 tabs in the back just dont want to go into there "pocket". i had to bend back some metal for them to align but now it wont go in. Is there a trick to this?? btw engine is still in car being supported by the jack

i was thinking should i lower the motor a bit, bolt the k member to it via the motor mounts, then jack the engine back up or.... just jack the k member up forcing it into its "pockets" I think the subframe may have closed up not allowing the rear tabs to seat against the car properly... any ideas or help???

You want to get the k-member started with NO WEIGHT on it. Get the alignment dowels started, and start getting bolts started.
When I had my k-member out, I picked the car up off of the k-member and engine and all. When it came time to re-install everything, I lowered the car onto the k-member until the dowels started to align. Then I took the longest bolt and started it in the closest hole. That got things started. once I was satisfied that it was lined up, I started all of the bolts in their proper holes
Then I drew the k-member up to the car. I didtn set the car down on the k-member. This allowed it to shift and move into its position easier.
Im not saying you have to lift the car...Im just suggesting that you get things lined up with all the bolts started, then use the bolts to draw the k-member up to the chassis. Just keep the motor away form it until you get the k-member bolted up all the way.

Well i finally got it in... im guessing the impact shifted everything to the right about a 1/4 inch... i had to beat the **** out of the rear part of it to finally get in the pocket then started drawing everything up by tightening the bolts... the right rear bolt holes wont line up so ill be taking it to a frame shop.. btw nice name
