I'm looking at umi's sfc's but should i do umi's and then the floors or floors then umi's

I'm thinking sfc's first that way the car has more support when they cut into the floors.

opinions welcome

The first thing that you need to do which either project is properly support the car. If you have access to a drive on lift, one that has the suspension loaded, use that to weld in the SFC's. You do not want to weld in the SFC's with the wheels off the ground. It would probably be easier to change out the floor with the SFC's out of the way. Yes they will give a bit more support to the car but if your changing the floor or sections of the floor you should have the car properly supported anyway.

My comment is to find some way to support the car in a few places before you cut the floor out. The best way is with the car supported on a frame jig like a good qualtity body shop has. This will reduce the body from getting twisted or welding in the new sectios of floor with something mis aligned.

i will not be doing either of these. the sfc's will be installed by a local speed shop thats used to handling mostly f bodys both suspension/chassis wise aswell as tuning and engine mods/upgrades. they are a full service hipo shop.

the floors will be done by the guy that will be doing my bodywork and paint. he's been doing custom cars around 30 years and i've seen some of his floor replacements and he does a great job.

i'm just figuring who to drop the car off to first.
