how to support the rear axle.

heres the thing I was going to put rear shocks on and the manual said support the rear axle. but there is the sway bar that runs across the hole axle. it does not say to take it off i was thing if i raise the whole rear of the car and put the back tires on ramps will that work since the weight of the car is on the ramps.

Re: how to support the rear axle.

It's ALOT easier if the tires are gone...

One pair of jack stands under the frame, right in front of the frame end of the LCA, to support the car; and another set under the axle tubes, holding the rear just an inch or 2 above the point that it fully hangs down to.

If you're having to do this with the tires still on it and the car sitting on ramps, then the ramps are suporting the axle, and you don't have to worry about it.
