Rear Coil Over Kit

Does anyone know of a rear coil over kit for a 3rd gen? And more importantly, does anyone have pics of one does this way? I will be mini tubbing my car, and am looking to see if this has been done and where the coil overs were placed. Is there a kit for it? Or is it a custom only job? Thanks!

Re: Rear Coil Over Kit

Steve Spohn came out with a kit that has a top brace support for the chasiss side of the shock mount- this plate beefs up the shock mount to distribut the load of now carrying a springs and the rear chassis weight lying on them. Without that plate, the upper mount location will tear out of the chassis over time. http://www.spohn.net/category.cfm?categoryid=1183

Re: Rear Coil Over Kit

Thanks a lot HPE. I knew I remembered seeing them somewhere, but was unsure of it. I'm sure I can tie in some extra support once everything is in place to increase the strength even further.

Re: Rear Coil Over Kit

You can easily assmeble a coilcover kit yourself and save some money. I made my own reinforcement plates and measured up my shocks and bought coilovers the same size. With 150lbs spring and a few clevis mounts I was done and it saved me roughly 150.00 over buying them and I used the same parts. You just have to be resourceful.

Re: Rear Coil Over Kit

You deffinitely must reinforce the mount area. You really need to find more than just the tin to tie too, which is very difficult since that's all there is back there. - Even with coil-overs you won't be able to do much in the line of mini-tubs as the rest of the suspension and the "frame rails" will be in the way.
