Drag Radial question

Hope someone can help me with this. I am getting ready to buy new rear tires for the Camaro and am planning on putting a set of Drag Radials on the car. The D/R size is 255/50/16 but my current tire is 245/50/16. I am using the 16x8 IROC wheels on the car with no rubbing issues as of right now. I do not have the factory spacers that came on the IROC cars and am curious if I would need to run an 1/8" or 1/4" spacer to keep the D/R's from rubbing on the inside. If anyone knows or can make a suggestion please let me know, also if anyone wants to make a suggestion on which D/R's to go with please throw those in as well.

Thanks in advance....

Re: Drag Radial question

Whats the intended purpose of the car? All out drag, with little street time? Daily driver with the occasional trip to the drags?

If you plan to run these tires everyday then you absolutely have to get Nitto's, you'll only get 15,000 miles out of them but that will be double of what you'll get out the BFG's or hoosiers. The hoosiers are quicker than the BFG's, but wear slightly faster.

255's will clear fine on the back.

Thanks for the reply, in all honesty the car will probably sit in the garage more than anything. But will definately see more street time than track time.
