Got new GY F1's for my Iroc-Z. They are everything Goodyear claims they are. I drove them very hard today, around curves, corners, and a empty warehouse parking area. Took a lot to get them to break loose. Highly recommend.

Re: Goodyear F1 GS-D3
I was debating getting these tires. Heard too many horror stories of them wearing out too fast. Any thoughts? I think they look awesome and have AWESOME handling potential.

Re: Goodyear F1 GS-D3
The tread pattern looks VERY similar to the Firehawk SZ50s that I have on my GTA - and I once took a mountain hairpin turn at 60 mph on those tires (the only time that I've REALLY scared myself in this car, got a friend w/ a car that's lowered & more modded, didn't want him to think he could beat me).

Anyway, if the Goodyear tires are even half the tire that the Firehawks are, they'll grip like a monster...
(Got a little more info/opinion on 'em in my vbGarage...)

Only once? It doesn't matter the speed, it matters the g's you pulled doing 60 I have owned both tires mentioned. The Goodyears are better that the SZ50EP's. I don't know what everyone is talking about with tread wear, I got 25,000 very hard miles out of mine, and I mean very hard overall usage with a few autox's on them even. Better check your alignments.

Re: Goodyear F1 GS-D3
Seeing as my dad works up at Goodyear I have used pretty much every performance tire they make at one point or another. The Gsd3 are amazing we have run them on everything from my dads Cst which he drives very hard. To my uncles 485 hp El Camino and they are great handling tires and grip great. The p[roblem with them wearing to early comes from the alingment bc we have never had it and my dad has told over and over agian with this kinda of tread pattern have the alingment off will kill the life of the tire.

Re: Goodyear F1 GS-D3
Whats the lifespan on these? ( I saw the 25k post, is that for a Camaro?)I do around 2k miles a year. I've read alot of good things about these. I still see alot of cars here which suspension mods running with cooper cobras (um... like mine) and moaning about the dire traction/handling. Still Cobras are better than the truly awful General xp 2000's. Glad you like them

Re: Goodyear F1 GS-D3
Yes it is a Camaro, A very built one that has recorded a 1.07 g's on a skid pad on GSD3's. This car also has recoeded a 60-0 in 102ft on those same tires and suspension setup and got a total of about 25K miles lifespan with that performance level occationally used very very hard. I probably ran that car 10 different times on a course of some type including about 20 different laps at speed on California Speedway roadrace course. This pic in an Autox I ran it in and basically cleaned house on many other tgo members here by 3.9 second margin and then some(the guy closest to me with the 3.9 sec gap behind was on 17x11 rims with BFG KD tires and a race prepped alignment for that day -not a daily street alignment like I was on I think the furthest back of the 11 or so others was about a 12 second margin).

Re: Goodyear F1 GS-D3
I ran these tires daily at 49psi (hot) front and 46.5psi rears always. I got perfect wear out of them.Chaulking them with shoepolish on the track showed they did compress onto the sidewall tread a good bit when pressed even at that psi. They are a high pressure tire so run them that way (ps- the inside mark was down over the edge of the tire the same exact margin.- Its how I set my cmaber and overall wear indication for daily driving. Ido this in noirmal mode and then hard mode to check any camber gain and poitential uneven contact patch between the two- pss- I also happen to be a new minor league NASCAR crew chief) Its all about suspension geopmetry and migaration of points to not only get performance, but also great wear duration. Its how we a car to last the duration of a race. Anything can be fast for a few laps but then go away quickly/ Street tires will get greasy much quicker than race tires and geometry specs on them are oh so much more critical to be fast and longevity.https://www.thirdgen.org/forums/atta...treet-mark.jpg

Re: Goodyear F1 GS-D3
I drive My GSD3s hard all the time and it looks like I will get real close to the advertised 30K mile tire life.

Re: Goodyear F1 GS-D3
What tire sizes do you gays have. Maxium width here with a 16 inch radius is 225.... I am just about to order a pair, but isn't 225 too skinny, performance wise?

Re: Goodyear F1 GS-D3
I tested the F1 tires out in the rain yesterday, and I was shocked! Never ever have I had a pair of tires with so much wet grip. They do their job so good I'm scared of breaking my car! I will hunt down a pair of 245's for the back tires, even if it means ordering them from halfway across the globe!
