F1GS-D3 vs. Firehawk
Looking to replace the old BFG KDWs on my car, they have seen their last corner..
I was looking and have narrowed it down to these two tires, now the question is simple...
IS the Goodyear F1 GS-D3 70.00 bucks per tire better than the Firestone Firehawk wide oval?? 234.00 per tire vs. 165.00..
My tire size is 275/40/17..
Thanks!

The GS-D3 is well worth the money. Much better tire than the Firehawk. I had the old Firestone SZ50EP's that were a great tire (Much better than the Firehawk) and I still liked the GS-D3's better. The SZ's were the closest second place tire I have ever owned to the GS-D3.

ps- the BFG KDW is a piece of garbage compared to the GS-D3. Here is shots of both on my Camaro.

I really wanna get some GS-D3s to replace my g-Force Sports either this summer or the next. But, $1000 for a car that is 90% all weather DD is hard to justify.

Re: F1GS-D3 vs. Firehawk
I have a set of summer tires and a set of winter tires. The summers are the ones I'd be replacing with the GS-D3s. Still, that's alot of dough for a car that sees almost no track time and the mileage mine does per year (17,500 average).
What size are the ones you can't find?

Oh. lol. I'd say they're aren't many tires in that size. Geeze, I'd hate to think what one would cost.

Re: F1GS-D3 vs. Firehawk
Have no experience with the Firehawk's but do have the F1-GS-D3's on my car. They work great on both dry and wet pavement. Great on fast turns. Only complaint:They are noisy at highway speeds. They tend to "whine" due to the directional tread pattern. If you have a potent motor with loud exhaust you won't notice. But if you have a stock engine and quiet Dynomax ehaust like mine, you will hear them. Could get annoying on a long trip.
