Traction problems
Traction problems
I installed home made subframe connectors (they look like CE's) And relocation brakets. The car is real stiff and will fly around corners. I still have a lot of wheel spin off the line.
Dose everyone use slicks at the track?
The motor is stock 305, 373 posi and the converter is 600 over stock.

No. but they probably dont run hard as nails, in it for the long mileage tires on them either.
buy stickier tires..

Re: Traction problems
sfc's wont help traction much, it helps wight transfer but if your rear suspension isnt built for the added stress you will spin more. invest in some LCA relocators and a trans tunnel mount torque arm. you will feel a huge difference.
my stock 305 can barely spin em anymore, but that with stock 3.23 gears. im goin up to 3.42's and hopefully ill b able to spin em without a braketorque.

Re: Traction problems
I dont want to invest in a torque arm, since I will be back halfing the car soon. I already have LCA relocators I made them when I did the subframe connectors. I found some 10.5 slicks and weld wheels for $350. I am going to buy them this weekend.

Re: Traction problems
sounds like a plan. slicks do the best smokey burnouts
Re: Traction problems
As for the original post, if you're planning on back-halfing the car then just do it. Otherwise, plan on spending some more time/money to make what you have hook.
My car runs high 11's on street tires and it'll hook in the rain all on the factory type suspension.
