Loud twang sound, front right when cornering

Today was a prime example, I slowed down to make a left turn off the road and cross over some RR tracks. I made the turn kinda fast, and there was a loud "twang" sound from the front right area. As I was bouncing over the tracks,(it's a rough crossing) it twanged/clanked again.

It usually seems to do it when going around left-hand curves fairly fast or sometimes even just going over big, yet gradual bumps in the road.

The tie-rod ends are new, but the rest is probably the same age as the car (89) I had it aligned recently, but it seems to pull right half the time depending on the road. I've also had the tire balance checked, and the wheel still shakes a little around 50.

Anybody ever have this clanking/twanging sound from the front before. It's like the sway bar or something is snapping back into position after turns. I do need to rebuild the front, but I'm also curious if there's something other than the usual front end rebuild stuff that's bad.

Look and see if the sway bar is rubbing against the spring pocket .It will rub a clear spot on it .

Good Ideas from those other replies. So if this noise occurs in the right front when taking a left turn it would indicate that the noise happens when unloading the left front while loading the right. A broken sway bar end link is
a very probable cause, but I'd check a few other things. I don't know about a ball joint, that would most likely make a knock or thump type noise. I would check around the area of the coil spring. Check for rust on the top and bottom of the spring indicating that the spring is shifting. Check for a broken coil near the top or bottom of the coil. Not sure if that preticular spring is equipped to have an insulator or not but a missing insulator (rubber seat on the bottom of a coil spring) on a vehicle that is designed to have one could very likely allow the spring to shift and cause your "twang"
