Spohn K-member tie-rod issue possible cause

A lot of people seem to have tie-rod issues with this k-member. I did. I also had issues with my headers (hedman longtubes) hitting it in 2 places. The motor mounts were even off. If only I could've done it over again.....

Anyway, I have 2 birds. One has the stock K and the other has the Spohn K. I never noticed this before until I had them sitting side by side.
The front wheels on the stocker are centered in the fender hole whereas on the Spohn K, the wheels are moved farther back off-center. This could be a major reason for the tie-rod issues that people are experiencing. I also have Spohn A-arms so I don't know if that comes into play.

Those with and without A-arms but that do have the K-member, could you post up some measurements from the rear of the wheel to the rear of the fender opening?

All stock - 3"
All Spohn - 2 1/4"

A friend of mine, StevenK here, had a problem too with the tubular cross member. Not sure he did to fix it in the end. PM him and ask.
