Strut question

Hi guys, im a new camaro owner (1984 v6 2.8), and let me just say... From here on out, it's Chevys til i die.
I basically had a question about my suspension, my mechanic said the front struts need to be replaced, so I googled it and saw how easy it looked. After maybe 2 hours of trying to pry off the nuts we got the old struts off then the new ones in. Now the car is shaky at 30+ mph. Did I do something wrong? I had the car jacked up and the hydraulic jack underneath the control arm for support. The rotor did hang down... could this have caused misalignment in the wheels and thats what im feeling? It did seem to get worse and worse as I kept driving. Can anyone offer some help?

Welcome to TGO. Replacing struts requires a front end alignment.

Re: Strut question

Yes, double check the torque on your two strut to spindle bolts. These things call for ~175 ft-lbs.

Your alignment may need to be checked, but I've always found it still within tolerances after a strut change. Doesn't mean it always will be, of course.
