Re: kumho vs Cooper

both are good tires, but for your car id say get the kuhmo excsta AST's I have them on my car and love them. also have them on my gf's sunfire and they have been wearing great. And they look awsome, and are good price. http://www.performanceplustire.com/i...ucts2/2670.jpg

Re: kumho vs Cooper

I've had two sets of Kuhmo's and been very happy with both. I've not had Coopers, but a friend does. I'd go with Kuhmo's over Cooper, if handling is important. I'd take Coopers for mileage.

Re: kumho vs Cooper

The SPT's are quickly becoming a favorite "wet" tire for auto-crossers and from what I hear they hold up well to heat which most street tires do not.

If an auto-crosser will run them they have to be decent.

I agree. Been doing autox for years and years, and have always been happy with the kumhos. I have them on my GTA now, and even a spare set, I scored used, but in very great shape, and CHEAP!

Re: kumho vs Cooper

Well that sounds great! i was going for the coopers because my dad is a tire guy and his supplier recommended the zeons, but when i went down to discount tire they talked me into the spt's. and by what your all saying it sounds like its a good thing they did!. seems as though not many people here have tried the coopers?

I have the 245-50-16 Kuhmo AST's and these tires are GREAT! The ride is good, they hook like you wouldn't believe and they're CHEAP! I got them out the door for 300 mounted.Great tire for the money.

Re: kumho vs Cooper

I hate Kuhmo tires. I have had them and after trying other tires I have come to the conclusion that Kuhmo tires are garbage. They are ok FOR THE MONEY. and thats about it. many other tires that are better. I've been using Avon Tech M550 A/S Ultra High Performance All Seasons. and these tire are way better than any Kuhmo I've ever owned.

Re: kumho vs Cooper

i'm with frank on this one....i dont like the kumhos. i had BFgoodrich Radial TAs that were a 215-60-15, and when i went to 16s, i bought some ecxta that were 245-50-16s, and the kumhos, altho wider, spun way easier than the 215s from BFgoodrich. the car handled much better, but i think it was sidewall height more than brand of tire, i'm using generalXP2000s right now, a cheaper tire but way better than a kuhmo in my opinion, straightline AND cornering.
