Solid tie rod, no ends

Has anyone ever done a solid centerlink to get rid of the tie rod ends? I've seen this setup on 4x4 trucks recently and it looks to be way more solid than using the tie rods. It would eliminate bump steer and would also get rid of the idler arm.

So the left/right spindle would be connected with a solid bar with adjustable spherical bearings. Then the steering box would have a rod that connects straight to the new solid center link. I think its called a drag link?

It doesn't work with independent suspension. A single tie rod system is used on solid axles only. Bump steering would be worse with independent suspension.

I guess I could have thought about that a little more before posting. Sorry for the dumb thread. I've had a long boring day at work. Sometimes we all get a little
