Strut and Mount Question

Just finished rebuilding my front end on my 85 Iroc-Z. I used all new Moog and Bilstien parts. Now I cannot get the plastic strut cover on that protects the top of the strut bearing mount. Either the bearing housing is a different diameter or the strut shaft is too tall, or both. Anyone had this problem? Badman

Yeah. I think the diameter of the mount is a bit smaller. I had to force mine in a bit.

Re: Strut and Mount Question

Just sent you a PM. Thanks for the answer. I am tearing the edges up trying to get them in. Maybe time for some new ones, hope I can get them in without destroying them too! Badman

I had the same problem. The only way I got them to fit was to take a sharp box cutter and cut a small pie wedge out from the point out to the outer edge. It fits perfect now and you can't tell because it overlaps itself a little bit.
