I want my car to ride like new
i got a 91 rs v6,
so far I've got brand new front & rear swaybar, and steering braces all from BMR,
along with brand new Panhard bar, and all bushing on swaybar is new.
and I have a SFC welded in as well.
struts and shocks (all monroe) is only 2years old.
no abnormal cupping feathering or whats so ever in the tire, so it can't be it.
it rides pretty good for its age, but Im still not getting the comfort Im looking for so I need some input.
what I got in mind is
new spring (not lowering), and new control arm bushings and maybe some new tie rod ends.
is there something besides these to give me a better comfortable ride?
any input is appreciated.

I'm not sure what your expectations are. My 85 IROC (check my car details for suspension details) rides like a lumber wagon compared to my wife's Chrysler LHS. Handling and comfort are more often than not two different things.

If you want comfort you bought the wrong car. Are you having any specific problems or is it a generally rough ride? You say you want it to ride like new, but did you own the car when it was new so you have a goal to shoot for?

Re: I want my car to ride like new
no i never owned the car back in 91, and I know camaro isn't the most comfortable car as far as the ride Im looking for.
I dont have a ride problem, I just want a ride where it's not too stiff, a bit soft.
I got a RS not an IROC so I know its a good start caz RS came w/ a softer ride I believe?

Re: I want my car to ride like new
If you want it to ride like "new" then buy a kit from say PST. Get the rubber bushings and tierod ends etc..If you go with poly then the ride will be a little firmer. This will give you a similiar ride like new.
Do not go with v6 springs. Yet it will be soft but the front will lift. The RS was a bit softer ride than the IROC.

Re: I want my car to ride like new
Change tires. Buy yourself a set of radials with a nice soft sidewall designed for comfort and mileage. That'll give you what you want. But it won't be like new. New was not soft.
Re: I want my car to ride like new
yeah you bought the wrong car.. if your looking for soft ride
my iroc rides so stiff its crazy.. but thats the fun part.. when taking a turn.. or switching lanes at 90mph.. that car sticks to the ground!! I LOVE IT!!... good luck..with your soft ride issue.. ps.. u might consider gettin air ride?

Re: I want my car to ride like new
Spend money on real strut/shocks like Bilstein and the like.
Will make the ride and handling better than cheaper kyb' or anything monroe make.
later
