What's needed to hook?
Right now my car is bone stock suspension wise, and I'm having some problems keeping her on the road. After a few launches I've noticed that she's really loose in the rear end and just feels almost like I'm driving in the rain, even when it's dry.
Just wondering what suspension upgrades would help me hook better. Keeping in mind this will probably never be a 1/4 mile car, it's mainly for street and pulling some stunts in empty parking lots.
Thanks guys

these cars can hook? ha ha
Maybe a four cyl....
I could be wrong but if you get it to hook, stock stuff is gonna give.
Be perpared to spend money. LCR's and possibly relocation brackets, adjustable torque arm, better and wider tires... I'm sure theres more but when you do get it to hook your rear end won't be able to handle it and then your tranny next.. or vise versa.. hopefully not at the same time....

Re: What's needed to hook?
I've got my new shocks and springs in mind, cash in hand just not sure which ones to go with. After it's lowered I'll be putting on the LCA reloc brackets anyways. But along with that I just don't want to be sliding all over the road. My tranny was rebuilt 20,000 km ago, so I'm not so worried about blowing that out.
Lots of sliding out and being over the road is also my driving, but besides that I want my car to be at it's best so I'm sort of setting myself up for success if you know what I mean.
Thanks guys

Sticky tires. All the trick suspension components in the world won't help if the tires don't grab. Street tires are not very soft. Even the softest street tires are only good when they're new. They're designed with high mileage rubber. Tires that still look good with rubber can be easily old and dried out with hard rubber.
Aftermarket suspension components will always help compared to the factory stuff but try some new tires first.

springs and shocks, lca relocates, tires, bushings, and gearing. Street tires are hard compound and don't hook very well, in fact they don't hook at all. They're controlled spin. - Many of these cars came with 2.73 and 3.08 gears. The steeper gear brings your wheel speed up faster, thus will actually tend to spin worse than lower(numerically higher) gears.
These cars can be bilt to hook quite well, even on street type tires.

No modification is gonna beat good driving and practice anyways. If the car spins right of the line, leave with a little less accelerator. If it can't stick first gear at WOT, then you'll have to pedal a little. So on and so forth...
