c6 wheel question that's exhausted
This is my first 3rd generation camaro. I purchased this car for a great price and is stock. I see pictures of 3rd generation with corvette c6 wheels. My question would 19x10 or 19x10.5 and 18x8 or 18x8.5 fit on a stock height 3rd gen camaro? If so what equipment and aftermarket parts do I need? Can you still lower the car after the rims are one? Do anyone have any pictures of 3rd gen's with c6 rims? My camaro is a stock rs v8 305. What would you recommend in performance products? (I know I am asking alot of repetitive questions) Can you put a TPI on a rs and still pass smog? Or any other aftermarket product to give me extra hp and still pass smog?

First off........WELCOME to the forum.
Yup.........lot of quetions....
19x10 will fit but you will probably require wheel adaptors. A lot of people find 19" rims harsh and overpower the look of the car. It is a personal preference. If you go with a 18x8 or 8.5 you should be ok. I would recommend a max backspace of 6" rear and 5.5" front. After that wheel adaptors may be necessary.
Yes you can still lower the car. There is a lot of debate on which springs are best. Do a search to see all the threads. Eiback offer a pro kit which will lower the car 1" and a sportline kit 1.5-2" lower. Both kit will work with the rims.
As for pics of C6 rims again try a search. There are lots of pics around. Also look in the appearance section as there is a rim thread with some pics there.
If your car is a 305 TBI than some performace gains can be made but you are limited. Best to look for a TPI motor with more hp potential. The TBI section can help or the TPI section to see. It depends on your overall goal and budget $$. You really should have a vision of what you want (looks and power) and a budget or a least know what your vision will cost.
YPu can put a TPI motor in your car. I am in the middle of doing just that. YOu would need the motor (obviously), wiring harness, ECM (computer) and fuel pump as the TPI and TBI are different.
A stock 305 TPI with a LT1 cam swap, headers, 3' exhaust (flowmaster or other) and a good tune (reprogram the ecm) should get you 240 hp or so.
You shoud be able to pick up a used good LT1 cam for say $20 - $30.
Hope this helps and gets you started.
See you around the board............
