ok to weld in cage and sfc with no motor

i was thinking about it and i was wondering to do it right does the motor need to be in the car to weld in a roll cage and sfc? you know just incase the body is hyperextended (i guess that the word for it) with no motor in it.

I did it, had no trouble at all. When I put all the pieces back together, everything fitted perfectly!

It's ok to weld with no motor, just don't weld it up while the car is on a lift.
