street strip car setup
88 trans am gta. 3850lb scaled with driver. whats the best struts/shock setup to go with for a street strip car. Dont car about the whole "drag racing use only" crap since the car is mostly going to be on the track or stop light to stop. would get strange engineering stuff but do not see anything available from them for the 3rd gen cars.
cars all stock suspension. currently has eibach springs (lowered believe 1"), drag radials, untubbed 255-50-16 mickey drag radials.
Thats another thing...can you fit a larger tire under these cars?
Want this thing to hook hard, like to see it carry front end decently are my goals.

Koni SPA1 and Lakewood 70/30 or 90/10 are about the only real choices for a drag type strut to fit a third gen. Lakewood is cheap but the Koni is much better.
If you want it to hook hard and carry the front end, better make a lot of HP or find some way to shave about 800 pounds from the car. That one is very heavy.
You can fit a 28x9 slick under the fenders with no problems. Trying to squeeze a 10.5" slick takes a bit of inner fender work depending on the height of the tire.

Wow...why does your car weigh so much what was in it or what have you added to it and how much do you weigh?

Re: street strip car setup
im not sure how accurate it was. i was at the local farm coop and used their scales they use for the grain trucks. claimed within like 1% but who knows. only thing added to the car is subwoofer box, roll bar, and strut tower supports.
im debating on gettn glass body parts for it but not sure if that'd be worth it (cutn enough weight).

Re: street strip car setup
i would believe that it weighs that much mine went across at 3880 with me. ive still got ac, a full stereo and an 8 point cage. thats what it weighed with a half a tank of fuel. i just put lakewood 90/10's on the front of mine and dropped the sway bar, there is a definate difference in the way the front end comes up. havent been to the track with it yet but it will put front end in the sky.
